There have been unused Limbach engines that have been stored for a long time. Here is an example of the valves from an engine that has done 50 hours after being stored for 32 years before installation.

The valves would have had corrosion before first start up which would have progressed rapidly. The cylinder head is of the old style which requires modification as per limbach bulletin 905.700.042.105
